There are quite a few steps to getting connected to the My Health Record.
1. Get your HPI-I
To get your HPI-I:
If you're registered with AHPRA:
Option 1 - You would have received your HPI-I in correspondence sent to you from AHPRA. If this has not been retained, you can obtain your HPI-I from:
- the AHPRA website www.ahpra.gov.au using your login account or
- calling AHPRA on 1300 419 495 Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (local time).
Note: If you know your AHPRA User ID simply add 800361 to the front of ID to get your HPI-I.
Option 2 - Call the HI Service enquiry line on 1300 361 457 Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm (local time) and request your HPI-I.
If you're not registered with AHPRA:You are eligible to obtain an HPI-I, provided that you meet the criteria for an individual healthcare provider set out in the Healthcare Identifiers Act 2010. To be eligible a healthcare professional must be a current member of a professional association that: 1. Relates to the healthcare that has been, is, or is to be provided by the member; and 2. Has uniform national membership requirements, whether or not in legislation.If you believe you meet the above criteria and wish to obtain an HPI-I, you can apply using the appropriate form indicated below:
In Whiteboard click on your name in the top right-hand corner and under the menu click Settings.Enter your HPI-I in the appropriate feild and click verify.
All Healthcare Organisations that Employ one or more people is eligable to register a HPI-O, this includes sole traders.There are two kinds of registrations a Seed Organisation and a Network Organisation.Unless you work for a large organisaiton with multiple sites or multiple departments (which can each be registered as an Individual Network Organisation) you'll need to register for a seed organisation. This can be done online at https://forms.digitalhealth.gov.au/ or using the form Application to Register a Seed Organisation form.
Once you've got your HPI-I:
Contact Whiteboard, we'll verify that your organisation is setup correctly and register your HPI-O in the Whiteboard System.
3. Link your HPI-I to your HPI-O
In order to link your HPI-I and HPI-O you'll need access to the Health Professionals Online Portal (HPOS).

If you don't have digital certificates you'll need to log on using the Provider Digital Access (PRODA) option.
Once you've access HPOS follow the instructions here to link your HPI-I to a HPI-O.
4. Register Whiteboard as your CSP
